In its endeavors to give corporate push to Namami Gange, National Mission on Clean Ganga (NMCG), under
Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation sorted out a workshop in New Delhi
on Thursday. Representatives from several public sector enterprises, banks and corporates participated tenaciously in the workshop on CSR exercises for Ganga Rejuvenation. Not only did participants showed keen interest in activities being undertaken under Namami Gange programme, major areas of possible co-operation between
NMCG and public and corporate sectors were also extensively deliberated upon in the workshop.
The workshop was gone to by delegates from Maharatna, Navratna and different PSUs – ONGC, Coal India
restricted, BHEL, GAIL India ltd., SAIL, NTPC Ltd., Oil India Ltd., Petronet Namami Gange: NMCG discusses
CSR initiatives with corporates LNG ltd., and so forth. Invigorating reaction was seen amid collaborations
with delegates of open and private area banks like SBI, Punjab National Bank, Bank of India, HDFC, ICICI, Yes Bank, OBC, UCO Bank and so forth., who energetically shared their illuminating thoughts to facilitate the reason for
clean Ganga. More than 20 banks participated in the workshop. Corporate organizations like Aditya Birla Group JSW and Tata Sons likewise got productively included in the occasion and displayed their perspectives.
Addressing to participants, Director General, NMCG, Shri UP Singh outlined different on-going sewage treatment, waterway cleaning, bio-assorted qualities and open cooperation extends under Namami Gange program before revealing insight into territories of regular interests. Shri Singh, while worrying on the significance of co-operation
from both open and private area in making progress and success, welcomed every one of the members to impart to NMCG their priceless thoughts and recommendations.
